Alessia Cara is a Canadian artist who was born July 11, 1996, to parents who are of Italian descent. In 2010, her parents gave her a brand-new guitar, which she used to develop her passion for music. In the age of 13, she started covering songs she adored on YouTube in order to show the public that she was a talented artist and was able to pursue a career as a musician. Sweater Weather is one of these covers which led to her being noticed at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label allowed her create the songs she wrote herself.
